Ayelet Zurer Instagram – Today is national Holocaust remembrance day and this is my mom. She and her sister were children who were separated from their parents by the war. Saved by a Christian Slovak couple claiming the girls are their own children and not Jewish. My mother went to church pretending to be something she is not. It kept her alive. There is more to her unfathomable story that took place in one of the darkness times in history. It’s in my DNA that trauma exists. Remembering is our responsibility, so we can make sure nothing like that happens again to Jews, or any other human.
