Carole Baskin Instagram – Shortly before the World Premiere of our film @officialsbiff, #jackhanna suddenly retired from public life. Coincidence? We don’t think so. Our film went on to win the Social Justice Award, and later, the Columbus Zoo lost its #AZA accreditation in part due to Jack’s behavior and the film’s impact. And yet, Jack is still considered by many to be a national icon despite misleading the public for decades about where he gets his ambassador animals and where they go. What is the conservation value of taking a baby snow leopard from its mother and parading it on national television at five weeks old? Bottom line, there is none. We are proud of the changes our film has made in raising public awareness about the plight of big cats, and we will continue to fight alongside all of you.
