I know you all love our @HansZimmerLive shows, but have you ever met the band members?! We are a wacky and crazy bunch and it was about time to introduce everyone!
For the first #HansZimmerLive Meet the Band… it’s the iconic Ms. @TinaGuo! Born in China to classical musicians, Tina fell in love with heavy metal and bought an electric cello to weaponize the sounds of an electric guitar. She struggled for years and did odd jobs like doing infomercials, playing the cello at funerals and even considered training to become a dominatrix. As a last-ditch effort to become a genre-fluid cellist, she recorded a metal version of “Flight of the Bumblebee” that went viral, and that music video inspired me to hire her for the #SherlockHolmes movie and eventually #WonderWoman. She puts on one hell of a live show, too!

My daughter found a video of Ukrainian pianist @alexpian_official playing Time from #Inception when air raid sirens began at the start of the war. I was so moved that we shared it at our London @HansZimmerLive show that evening.
I’ve seen many excellent renditions of Time over the years, but this is one I will never forget.

For the next #HansZimmerLive Meet the Band, I’d like to introduce you to the extraordinary father-daughter duo of @thereallebo_m and @refi_sings. You probably recognize Lebo’s iconic voice from #TheLionKing! He and I met in the early 1990s after he emigrated from South Africa to LA and was busing tables at coffee shops and McDonald’s. We haven’t stopped collaborating since, and then I met his daughter Refi. When she was 17, I asked her to join us on tour because she had irrefutable creativity emanating from every tour. Now, they sing together on every night of the tour and it makes my heart burst every time!
Creating music with other artists makes the process all the more special, so I thought I’d spotlight composers I’ve had the joy of working with over the years!
Because of the brilliant @heitortpereira, we have the pleasure of performing the #Gladiator with four extra guitarists. 😁 Not to mention, the blast we had together on #ItsComplicated!
