Flight was delayed but not canceled. Yay #winning
Landed in Rome around 8:30pm and found out my bag was left behind. Booo
Had to stand in a ridiculously long line to file a missing bag report only to find out my bag was in Frankfurt along with over 3000 other missing bags. Yikes
Finally ready to leave the airport and all taxi drivers had just gone on strike. Great.
Took over two hours to get an Uber. Made it to the hotel around 1am with no luggage and no stores open. Showed up to the Vatican museum at 9am to pick up my pre-ordered skip the line ticket (highly recommend) wearing my only outfit choice, the same sweatpants and hoodie I had traveled in. Not my preferred choice in 34 degrees Celsius. Was blown away by the beautiful Vatican and happy I decided to stick to my original plan because the line outside was crazy and these skip the line tickets sell out for weeks in advance. Went straight after to buy some more weather appropriate clothing and necessities. Bag finally arrived three days later after many phone calls every day. Yay, better late than never.
