Grease: @riseofthepinkladies started as the brain child of our absolutely fearless leader, @annabeloakes. Wanting to bring back the vibrant 50’s to discuss important social topics through song and dance, AND to bring generations together through a fresh take of nostalgia, it was a challenge for not the faint of heart. So finding a strong team was of the utmost importance. She recruited the amazing @aletheajones to help bring her vision to life with tableaus and Grease energy. Then came @jamizzi to take the wheel and choreograph every single step, painting each frame with @jeffreymortensen @lou.sky and @ttempura. And finally @tranterjustin & his team to write the no skip soundtrack of the century, combining old school style with modern day hooks. @jennifermorrison came along and sprinkled even more magic on this show and held our hand through the process. @conradwoolfe and @wildleighanimal gathered some of the most talented people in the world to tell this story and let me say, being in scenes with my cast was a master class every single day. These people gave us the incredible responsibility of taking their art and bringing it to life and for that I will be forever grateful. I’ve never been more proud of every single person on this production, from our dancers to AD’s to stand-ins to hair & makeup to the skeleton crew.. who have put every ounce of effort and love they could possibly have into this project; including our background who have been with us since the beginning. The hard work and dedication is unmatched. I’ve cherished these 7 months, watching it go by, not wanting the fun to end, and wishing I could bring this new family home with me. Thank God I have so many memories to keep me going. We’ve witnessed the making of something so special we can’t even comprehend how we pulled it off.
