Vanessa Evigan Instagram – Dream trip to Italy almost a year ago today…..take me back, please. Beautiful places, divine fashion, amazing food, and breathtaking architecture are things I love, but they all fall short to meaningful time with good friends and family. Social media often gives the impression that glamorous moments equal a glamorous life. In truth, moments like these are 5% to the 95% of the time I’m in sweats, hair up, no makeup, no shower, chasing toddlers, with unidentified stains on my clothes. In my normal everyday life, I sometimes get caught up in the comparison trap by looking at others glamorous lives. It makes me feel guilty to post about great moments and passions of mine, as I know I’m not alone and never want anyone to feel left out or not enough. I guess this reminder is as much for me as it is anyone else who may need to hear it. Chase those beautiful life moments and feel proud to share them but remember this when you’re at home watching others “perfect lives” through a filtered screen; our feeds may be like a highlight reel at times, but real life is never a highlight reel for anyone.
