28 years ago today, Forrest Gump hit the box office. I was honored to play the wounded Vietnam Veteran, Lt Dan Taylor, and represent so many of our wounded veterans who selflessly served our country. And today, 28 years later, it’s an honor to help “the real Lt. Dan’s” through the @garysinisefoundation. Much like my character in the movie, these heroes suffer not only physical wounds, but invisible ones. I believe we can never do enough for them.
I am forever grateful for the opportunity Forrest Gump gave me, and the Army veteran who changed my life forever, Lt. Dan Taylor. #icecream Nashville, Tennessee
Very sad to hear the news that James Caan has died. Heartbroken for his family and all his friends. Wonderful to know him and call him a pal. Jimmy was so supportive of Gary Sinise Foundation and my work with our veterans. He will be missed. Thank you my friend. Rest In Peace. God bless you
Made a special trip today to visit the Police, Fire and Dispatcher Departments in my hometown of Highland Park, Illinois. Was honored to support the PD with our @garysinisefoundation Serving Heroes program. My heart goes out to all the brave first responders serving there and to all the victims and families effected by the terrible shooting on July 4th.

Had a wonderful visit at my foundation office recently with old friend, Penelope. Back in 1987, she co-starred in the very first film I directed, Miles From Home.
Lots of love my friend
In celebration, every dollar we raise today, up to $250,000 was MATCHED by our friends at @regalmovies, and we’re keeping it going! That means we have already raised over HALF A MILLION DOLLARS for our heroes and their families. And we haven’t stopped yet. Just incredible.
Your generosity will allow us to continue our life changing outreach. I hope you’ll join me on our GSF Day of Giving and consider making a donation today here: https://donate.garysinisefoundation.org/campaign/day-of-giving/c414225 (link in bio)

2022 marks the 100th Anniversary of one of America’s most famous and majestic landmarks – the Lincoln Memorial. Watch as Gary Sinise pays tribute to this prestigious piece of history. #memdaypbs #memoriaday #lincolnmemorial
Today we remember HM2 Bailey Tucker, HM1 Sarah Burns, AWS1 James Buriak, Lt. Paul Fridley and Lt. Bradley Foster. Killed one year ago when their helicopter Loosefoot 616 crashed off the coast of San Diego. #neverforgotten
In 1999 I had the great pleasure to work with this terrific cast headed by Paul Sorvino on That Champion Season for Showtime.
My heartfelt condolences to Paul’s family.
Rest In Peace my friend.
