Leonardo DiCaprio Instagram – California’s San Gabriel Mountains area has been battered with climate-driven heat waves, drought, wildfires, and flooding for more than two decades. The rapidly changing climate has affected the wildlife who have called the region home for years, including a rare yellow-legged frog whose inhabitation of the mountains has been in danger since the streams across the region have dried up. Six biologists recently made the trek to the San Gabriel Mountains in order to return these rare yellow-legged frogs back to their home, doubling the number of wild yellow-legged frogs. Leonardo DiCaprio Instagram – The Jaguar population in Argentina’s Iberá Park has grown to 12 individuals with the recent birth of two more cubs, thanks to the amazing work of @Rewild’s close partner @rewilding_argentina. Of the 12, four are wild-born cubs and eight are reintroduced adults. Using the location points sent by the mother Jaguar’s GPS collar, biologists were able to note her movements and discovered that she had not moved much for several weeks – indicating that she had probably given birth. They were able to confirm this using camera traps that captured videos of her together with two healthy cubs. These Jaguar cubs spur hope in Rewilding Argentina’s continued work to reverse the disappearance of locally extinct species and the #rewilding of #Iberá Park. #TeamRewild #RewildingArgentina @rewilding_argentina
