I didn’t realize how emotionally unavailable I was until I had my first biological child. He was born confident, decisive, trusting, loving and generous. . . I wanted to preserve that in him, which is how I was able to identify my emotional disconnect from the world. . . Don’t beat yourself up if you feel the same way. I believe part it is a survival mechanism that can be very necessary according to the environment you were raised in. . . Being able to identify and take ownership is a big step. Now you can make a conscious effort to go against the grain of what feels most natural. Why? Because for a lot of us , what feels most natural is still considerably toxic. . Like I said in a previous video, most of us are emotionally unavailable wondering why we cannot achieve lasting and committed love.
