Checked Instagram today after a week and it’s this, @SwathiReddyOffl Twitter handle is NOT mine. Am NOT on Twitter. I never will be.
Am NOT on Facebook. I quit it in 2011. ( I have a page handled by someone else, which is dormant ) And.
I don’t know why am still on Instagram. Maybe it provides a voice to say the below.
Those of you who brought it to my notice, thank you. This account keeps returning and coming to my notice. ( who are you boss? #Darr ) If you have Twitter and the energy, then please flag it, I have not had much power over what’s written and said about me in the past. I know this shouldn’t matter, it’s not a big deal, am not so relevant also currently blah blah but home girl is just tired of fake.
I don’t understand the patience to be a fake me when the real me is not able to be herself completely online.
Fake profiles, Fake articles, fake posts, fake relationship standards, fake images, fake positive. Take me back to the 90s where a landline ensured more quality conversations, power cuts because of a drizzle and not a quarantine meant bonding, softy ice cream and egg puffs was standard socialising and Doordarshan was enough stimulation.

Saw this in a commercial building parking lot and took some bad pics before I had to rush. He said , “ It’s hopeless, they won’t survive” imagine the plants replied back and said, “ Mokke Kada Ani Peekeste Peeka Kosta “ That’d freak us out eh.
Imagine if animals could talk too ?
Better yet, add plants too. Two Gulmohar trees catching up with each other, just swaying with the breeze and going “ Hey man, what’s up ? How’s that bird on that branch of yours doing? Like talk talk. Like we talk. Like in some movies how real animals talk with human being voices as characters. Not animation. Can’t remember a single movie for reference now. Great!
How different everything would be ? How everything would be? Their lines not scripted by a human writer for a movie but their own stuff to say, to each other or us, doesn’t matter. I can’t seem to imagine. More noisy ? Or more calm ? more unity ? Don’t know.
Like down right not even questioning humanity or being all poetic type wondering. Seriously. The more I think about it the more it seems…Woah! Maybe like in the movies they are secretively there out there with some special humans only. C’mon now ya.
People who can speak to animals and plants. Wait. Correction. People to whom animals or plants prefer to speak to in human languages. Regional or English whichever. I swear I won’t tell anybody. Five youngsters running from bad goons and badder cops eventually getting trapped inside a fully functional “get everything under one roof” kind of super store while frantically trying to send out an SOS via MMS using old Nokia phones ( Don’t bother, it was 2004 ) was the climax of Danger.
Shooting there felt like being in an apocalyptic film in itself – full access to everything on sale and doing action sequences like ducking, quick moves hiding, crawling around aisles leading to exploring the whole store thoroughly and I mean thoroughly.
One such – Ahh just escaped! type shots required me to be lying on the floor in the toys section where a brown teddy bear pushed all the way to the back because he had a slight tear on his bum and wasn’t perfect like the rest of his clones caught my attention. Insert – Immediate rush of emotion for this pavum. After the shot, I declared to anyone who cared that he also deserves a home, but since it was my first film, I was more sincere than required and decided to wait till pack up to bill it. By the time we wrapped for the day it was gone. I was disappointed, I wanted it to be me who made him feel special and not a reject.
Over the years, I’ve noticed there are a zillion ways to be made to feel loved or special. Like, someone writing your name in snow and sending a picture ( I did that ) or on a misty windowpane ( I got that ) Someone making you a cup of coffee without asking ( I do that and get that ) Someone setting up your house cause you a mess ( I did that ) Someone showing up at 7am with the last HP series book cause the rush at Walden was mad and you was colours ( I obviously got that ) Someone who always tries to end text chats with a proper bye, when you are passed the leg piece at the table because everyone knows it’s your favourite, when it’s mostly their Netflix preference over yours..There are so many bloody ways to make the right people happy and loved. They are all over the place, just like this write up.
It was mum who bought my tear-in-the-bum bear to surprise me later, he still doesn’t have a name but is still with me. We both are loved.
Among the many perks of growing older are.
1. Realising how important sleep is.
2. More time to train the needless to sound like sweet gibberish when awake.
Point 2 will help point 1 materialise.

It takes energy to conform to what the herd perceives as the norm. Yet, there is a tremendous amount of energy we save by not. However the sacrifice we make by not is that we don’t have a place in the herd.
The benefits of not belonging are ultimate freedom, less in-group preferences which could lead to more universal love, self-actualisation above conformity. To love being an individual who can be themselves genuinely, Ideologically independent and, basically question everything and everyone. Even though it’s a path of uncertainty, the delight of not belonging is truly priceless.

ఇప్పుడు క్వారంటీన్ లో అందరు సినిమాలు చూస్తున్నారు కదా అని ఈ బుజ్జి సినిమా గుర్తు చేస్తున్నా. లండన్ బాబులు రీమేక్ అయినా, నిజాయ్తిగా, ఎక్సట్రాలు లేకుండా ఉండేలా చేసాం. ఈ ఆదివారం ( ప్రతిరోజు ఆదివారమేలే ) ఇంట్లో పనులు నుంచి బ్రేకు ఓకవేల తీసుకున్నట్టైతే, ఓక వెమ్మదిగా కథ ఉన్న సినిమా కావాలి అంటే చూడండి. కోంచం ఓపికగా చూడాలిసిన సినిమా ఇది. అనవసరమైన స్టైలిష్ ఐ కాండి లేయర్లు ఏమి లేవు. పైగా ఏ సీన్ మిస్ అయినా లాజిక్ పోతుంది. ఇప్పుడు అందరికి కంగారు ఏమి లేదు కదా. పోని ఇప్పుడైనా ఇలాంటి సినిమాలు చూడొచ్చేమో అని. పర్ఫెక్ట్ గ్రేట్ సినిమా కాదు కాని బానే ఉంటుంది. This birthday when loved ones called to wish me, I made them promise not to post about how much they love me, all of them laughed and most of them sounded relieved. I kid you not. Point? Social media has a reputation of being superficial, stressful, peer pressure inducing, aggravating complexes wala medium and I agree. But, it has a whole other side. Cooking videos, work out guides..Several ways to be even more productive, especially now, with the lockdown – learn a new language, pick up a skill, basically, how to – Version 2.0 of you.
Ironically in reality, most of us are wiped out by the end of the day or guilty we couldn’t achieve the above list, and in that state, some memes we get as forwards/tagged in, tiktoks of a stranger saying/doing something funny, the viral video of a female cop belting irresponsible folks offer much needed light hearted moments. We share and enjoy, briefly forgetting the bad news the channels are churning out all day. Smiling, we have a shift in attitude towards our situation. Mostly after a good laugh, if we notice, our conversations tilt towards the positive, how this will pass, how blessed we are, earth is healing etc.
Comedy is power. Unfortunately those who make us laugh are rarely given enough regard. I was once shooting with a senior Telugu actor, popular for comedy who told me he stopped smiling in public because he was tired of people coming up to him excitedly, asking for an autograph and then saying “ Now, tell us a joke funny guy“!! Sigh. Anyway, this isn’t about injustice to comedy but more to say, HEY YOU stranger out there who is risking judgement such as silly or immature from your circle.. Who has people assuming you are “on” 24/7, you who are editing videos and putting out content ,we will never know what some of your names are, what you are going through but may you know, when the chips are down, your creativity gives us a break.
Social media will remain predominantly fake, but the LOLs it provides with sharp and timely satires/funniness is real. All the not so popular but talented artists out there, who, write, act, sing and bring in the humor. .Thanks guys!
