As tradition has it, when ever we play Under The Bridge, I ask someone by the side of the stage to play my entry note into the song. I turn the volume off, they strike the low e string in a timely manner, then I roll it in nice and smooth. Last night this soulful young man hit it and I could tell he felt the rhythm in his heart. To make matters better, his sister rocked it with great aplomb just a few nights before!
Was trying to get him to crack a smile but I failed
Hi, our new single and video are coming out on August 19th. I just saw a dead rat on Bowery street. It seemed like a tough death for a rat it was squished into the hot and dirty sidewalk. All it’s little hopes and dreams obliterated. Before that I had salmon and rice and miso soup for breakfast it was very nice. Love to all sentient beings. The video is directed by @malia_james
Between the two of us, a lot of bass notes have been played @thundercatmusic

Our new song EDDIE is out on Friday. It’s one of my favorites. Triggers the depths in me every time.
The book I wrote, Acid For The Children, has just been released in paperback. To mark the occasion I wrote a new chapter which was not included in the hard cover printing. Pen to paper, finger to key, I gave this book everything I had inside, I learned a lot about myself. I love books.
Red Hot Chili Peppers new single Tippa My Tongue is out in all the listening and viewing spots at this moment while I type in this darkened hotel room to tell bout it. I hope it has uplifting qualities for you. And you.
Thinking of profound bravery of the women of Iran, in the streets protesting the oppression forced upon them, at great risk to their well being. Long live Mahsa Amini, may her memory inspire a path of freedom. Separation of church and state is a good thing.
Happy birthday to my daughter Clara! My inspiration!!! May we swim in many more icy high sierra rivers!!!

The Duke and the Queen. After Duke Ellington met Queen Elizabeth, he composed a suite in six parts for her, then made one single golden record of it, and sent it to her. That’s a suave man, he dug the queen. A Single Petal Of A Rose. It later came out and is called The Queen’s Suite. You can hear it at the push of a button. Transcendent music. Music doesn’t get better. Thanks Ted Giola.

Human beings are capable of amazing things. Happy birthday to one of the most transcendent of all, the great John Coltrane. A Love Supreme.
BIRD LIVES
Thank you @thejazzestate
Most things fade away, but Pharoah Sanders will live forever. What a sound, what healing magic, what a beacon lighting our way. When that new record came out last year it carried me to the cosmos and back. Thank you, rest easy, break on through to the other side. I love you Pharoah.
I believe this organization has integrity, and operates in good faith, if one wants to help liberate the women in Iran. I know I do. Love to Nika Shakarami and Mahsa Amini
