A few takeaways from the tour: monetary donations are always preferred over physical food donations due to the surplus of old, expired, unhealthy, and opened food that they receive and have to sort. The GVFB works with 118 agency partners to provide food across the lower mainland of BC. The numbers of regular food bank clients at the GVFB has risen to an all time high (13,000 /month). 24% of current clients are students, 14% are seniors l, and 30% are families with children.
