FREE Breastfeeding Class ✨
I missed World Breastfeeding Week but every day should be World Breastfeeding Week in my book!
I hope by now most out there know how exceptionally beneficial breastfeeding is for mothers and babies. There’s no formula on earth that comes close to delivering the same nutrition, microbial, emotional, hormonal, immunological or physical benefits that breastfeeding provides. I could list hundreds of benefits and studies here to prove my point but instead I want to honor WBF by providing a free (donation based) class open to all looking for support and resources on their journey. This class is also open to birth workers looking to grow their toolkit for supporting parents.
As a doula I find that most mothers set out with the intention to breastfeed (because the benefits are made very clear) but when we look at stats in the US we see that a majority stop within first 6 months and only 13% of babies are exclusively breastfed!!!!! I believe this is due to lack of support, paid leave, poor guidance and high intervention in hospital setting, corporate-sponsored misinformation and an overall lack of resources for what can be a very challenging journey for some.

Alchemy 🪱🪴 My compost worms have been hard at work breaking down our food scraps (trash) and turning it into black gold soil for our garden. Mother Nature is so perfectly brilliant. Rarely do we stop to think about the value of worms but man are they creatures of service living out their highest purpose. There’s something so satisfying about watching waste turn to fertile soil, one of earths most precious resources. Soaking it in as a reminder of the alchemy we’re all capable of.

My incredible midwife and doula @thevitalwoman @lbreggy went above and beyond in creating the most sacred and meaningful space for connection and transformation for all of us. In a culture that often lacks tradition and ritual, it is moments like these that are such an important reminder of what life is all about. So grateful to feel so held and to be bringing this baby into such a loving community. A day I will always cherish at one of my favorite places @onesunfarms.
