Joy Bryant Instagram – I met Rebeca Huntt through a mutual friend in NY in 2017. Her passionate energy was infectious and we hit it off instantly.
She told me about the film she was making, a documentary about her life. Then in her mid 20s, her story was captivating, of how a young Afro Latina from NYC faced her demons, both from the outside and from within, to find her voice and boldly declare it to the world.
We became sisters that day and in the years since then, I’ve seen her bust her ass to make her artistic vision a reality.
And what a beautiful and powerful reality it is.
BEBA, the debut film written, directed and produced by Rebeca Huntt opens this weekend to great reviews and enthusiasm.
It’s a masterpiece.
