Oh Darren. My sweet sweet good dear excellent friend. I can’t believe you’re not here. You’d probably enjoy this more if I swear so fuck, dude. I don’t know what our family is without your warmth, your patience, the slyness and enthusiasm of your love. Mum said to me a few a days ago that you and I had each other’s number from the beginning, and she’s right. You delighted me in every way, always. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be you and Amy when I grow up (I’m still working on it). Your love for each other is an unsinkable reminder to me of how beautiful and precious it is to share your life with someone. And also to talk about butts and play a mean cornet and call people by the wrong name for a decade and drink good beer and sometimes just-okay beer and be the office nuclear failsafe and remind us that the dogs are fine and wear sweet vests and be a cool hockey guy and get sick tattoos and be largely irate and highly inappropriate whenever possible. Today I’m taking solace in how rock and roll you would think this lightening storm is and how you’d probably want to make some dinner and watch something wholesome about trains with Amy and I. I miss you. I miss you. I love you forever. Give em hell Daryl, I’ll meet you in the carport.
