Pallavi Sharda Instagram - Today is the #internationaldayofthegirl. I’m taking it to reflect on my inner child, my inner little girl - who still rages despite the quietening inherent in adult societal living. ‘Rages’ is an interesting word, in modern parlance it signifies free expression - but in reality so much of this can be performative in a culture now predicated on showing; a portrayal of expression as opposed to the raw, unadulterated howling of that inner child which for some has been burdened under layers and layers of quietening, the need to be ‘good’, ‘compliant’, undisturbed. I have been watching on as the women of Iran express their rage, as they scream from their sacral depths and heave their utter despair at being quashed, pushed, annihilated. This rage is important; its expression even more so. For the energy to be summoned, for change to occur societally, but for the healing in our bodies that have been told for years to keep it calm, keep it low, keep it simply going. There are infinite limbs to what it means to be woman; they are each seeded by freeing that little girl within. ☄️ 📸 @milighosh

I have learnt so much, shared so much, and can’t wait to share here all the ways in which incredible humans are making an impact in the field of conservation of this beautiful part of earth.
