Growing up I had a little fear of heights so it’s quite ironic my skateboarding passion evolved to a place where I had to face that head on. Standing on the top of a 10 story bamboo scaffolding tower swaying around in the wind built on top of a skinny wall with no railings and a 50 foot drop on both sides was another mental twist with this endeavor. Seeing is believing, I’m always searching for the latest innovations with orthopedic medical science and was connected with @bioxcellerator_ through a good friend of mine @wolfmate about 2 years ago. I have had countless joint injuries and surgeries over the last 40 years and have some significant degeneration in several joints but the weight bearing joints are the most chronically painful. I have had 4 knee reconstructions on my left knee and about to have the 5th. Both of my knees have cartilage degeneration / arthritic changes from years of heavy abuse. BioXcellerator treated both knees along with every other joint in my body 14 months ago. Just prior to these treatments I had MRI scans and X-rays on every joint in my body. Here is proof of what the mesenchymal stem cells can do for degenerative joints. The first of these 2 films was shot 14 months by @dr.fabilus just prior to my treatment late June 2021 and the second film was shot 2 days ago September 9th 2022 by @dr.fabilus . The joint spacing has increased between my tibial plateau and my femoral condyle, which shows some level of cartilage regeneration in this 14 month time period and it will continue to improve for the next year or so! When I built this relationship with @bioxcellerator_ I told them I wanted to document the process and the results of my treatments and be completely transparent about the findings and they were so confident in the outcome they were happy for me to share the results. I’m so amazed by these results and very excited to be working with the most advanced scientists, doctors and business in the stem cell movement. I have had 28 orthopedic surgeries now which 21 were performed by @drwilliamprevite . When your in the business of getting hurt the resources like relationships with your doctors, and the education you acquire along the way becomes the crux to the longevity and success of your career. I wouldn’t have made it past 30 without Dr.Previte and @paul.chek . Paul introduced me to Dr. Previte in 1997 when I blew my ACL for the first X and the rest is history. @bioxcellerator_
I love that skateboarding exposes you to so many situations that translate into everyday life wisdom. 1989 Sweden Vert ramp demo/ session with Tony Mag. I will never forget this ramp because I knocked my teeth in at the end of this session which sucked but wasn’t the first time or the last of doing that. Thank god I had braces when I was a kid because we were able to wire my teeth back together multiple times which actually worked and I never lost any of them. @hstreetskateboards

The catalyst story behind @dcshoes My brother @damonway and I grew up skateboarding with one goal only in mind which was be the best we could be. Damon’s skateboarding skills were also on the path to becoming a pro someday. Unfortunately in the apex of Damon’s learning curve unforeseen circumstances would arise leaving his physical ability permanently limited shattering his dreams of becoming a pro. Damon would ultimately figure out how to create his legacy within the skateboarding industry. Damon was 16 at the time of injury and at 18 ready to pursue his first business venture. In 1991 through our network of mutual friends Damon meets @kblock43 who had just founded a new brand called 8 Ball Clothing. Shortly following I met Ken and the stars start align between us 3. Ken and Damon see the vision of how they would run the company together and a 50-50 partnership in 8 Ball Clothing was formed. Ken’s role was graphic designer/ marketing director, Damon head of clothing design and I would become first pro skateboarder but also help out with bringing in new team riders. The inception of our relationship was the catalyst to several other projects that would shortly follow @droorsclothing 1992 and the creation of @dcshoes 1994. This is one of the first 8-Ball ads ever published in @transworldskate with @sal_barbier and I. As you can see I was already acquainted with crutches at 16 years old. @persue1 @williamseansheffey @jordanrichter
