It tells the true story of how Jesse Brown defied all odds to become the first African American naval aviator. But it’s also a story about how people from very different backgrounds can come together and be there for each other, in the most difficult moments. I got to portray Carol Mohring, a real person, and best friend to Jesse Brown. It was an honor to bring Carol back to life in this film, along with the story of Jesse Brown and the other 32’s.
