This was taken at the @selvaturapark sloth sanctuary in Monteverde where they care for these charming animals that have either been hit by cars or electrocuted and will never be able to return to the wild. But the sanctuary tries to replicate their natural surroundings as best it can and give them a happy life. We have seen several sloths in their natural habitat too but as they sleep for around 22 hours a day, they have all just been motionless bundles of fur…until now. Our main reason for coming to Costa Rica was my youngest’s love of sloths, so she’s in seventh heaven.
