Leah Remini Instagram – Bringing our only child to college for the first time has been the most excruciatingly painful and proudest moment of my life. I have never cried so much in my life. I am only comforted by meeting other parents at Target who bonded with me over our mutual pain and pride.
It is the hardest thing I have ever done, and I’m still torturing myself with the idea that I might have pushed my daughter on the college track because I never got to go when I was her age. I am entering my second year at NYU, so now we’re both college students! I know many of you are going through this, not just sending your kids to college for the first time, but many of my friends are sending their children to kindergarten for the first time, and I remember that day like it was yesterday.
Angelo and I sat in the parking lot of our daughter’s school, crying like babies, and discussed pulling her out and homeschooling her. It is not easy to let go; change is so hard. It feels so unbelievably wrong to get on a plane without my daughter and leave her to be an adult when she is still just our baby in my and her dad’s eyes. I don’t look forward to going home where my daughter’s room will be empty without her until she comes home for Thanksgiving.
My heart goes out to all the parents and caretakers who might be going through this bittersweet journey.
The good news is, Thanksgiving is in 83 days…
Leah Remini Instagram – Please share this post in your stories so we can get the word out.
Mahsa Amini was a 22 year old woman who was in Iran with her family.
She was arrested by Iranian government authorities for improper wearing of the hijab.
She has died after being tortured into a coma by Iranian authorities.
Torturing anyone is always unacceptable, but to torture this poor young woman for not wearing a head covering properly is horrific.
In response to her murder, her mother said, “Let the world know they killed my daughter.” Authoritarian leaders hope people get distracted and move on. So let’s continue to share her name and her story.

Leah Remini Instagram – Where I’m from, when a woman puts her hair up like this, she’s getting ready to fight. And that’s exactly what the people of Iran, especially women and girls, have been doing for the last 18 days. They are not only fighting for their freedom and their lives but also their country. I’m putting my hair up in solidarity with them to bring attention to their continued fight and to acknowledge that this is a marathon, not a sprint. We need to be in this fight with the people of Iran not just for a few tweets but for as long as it takes for them to gain freedom. And let’s not forget, this is about freedom in all respects, not just freedom from the compulsory hijab.
I hope you will join me in continuing to bring attention to this fight. You can all do it from the comfort of your homes while the people of Iran risk it all. The Islamic Republic is hoping we’ll get distracted, but we must let them know that the world is watching and that we stand with the people of Iran no matter how long it takes.

Leah Remini Instagram – Finally, @michellevisage and I got out together for some fun. As you can see, it takes a village to get ready for a fancy Hollywood type party.
Happy birthday @ditavonteese

Leah Remini Instagram – I’m very emotional, so hang in there with me.
In my last post, I shared how difficult it has been to have our daughter head off to her first year in college.
I wanted to express my gratitude to people in my life that helped make the past week easier.
My sister @nicole_b_remini flew in from Arizona to help me move my daughter into college. I can’t express how much it means to me that my sister did this for her niece and me.
Nicole was there for every emotional breakdown I had (and there were many). Her friend @restus from junior high and her kids helped us morning, noon, and night for two days straight, doing all they could to help us make the dorm room as cozy as possible. My friend Moin was hanging wallpaper in his work clothes.
My friend @yasharali made sure I knew all week that it was okay to feel what I was feeling.
My friends @michellevisage, @crabichuk, @bobbynewberry and @tjparadise called me daily to ensure I was okay. My mom @vikkimars50 had my favorite meal ready when I got home (I’m still crying, by the way).
I love you all. Thank you for caring so much when I needed you the most. I am very blessed to have you all in my life.

Leah Remini Instagram – Twenty-three years ago this week, the King of Queens premiered. And 23 years later, many of you still watch it in syndication. Knowing how our show is so loved brings me so much joy. It is a testament to our executive producers, writers, and crew and the real connections we, as actors, had with each other. So many of those relationships are still going strong today!
Thank you for all the love and support all these years!

Leah Remini Instagram – Happy birthday to my bestie @michellevisage. And not only is it her birthday, but it’s also been 20 years since we met. Finding a friend you can play with and work with is hard, but in Michelle, I get both. A friend who understands me so well that I don’t need to explain things to her.
A true friend is there for you when you need them the most. They don’t wait for you to reach out. They know. They laugh with you in ways no one else can. They know your deepest darkest secrets and insecurities and guard those with their life. They don’t judge you but rather help you to get on the right track.
They know what’s happening in your everyday life and check in on you for the big and little things. They are a shoulder to cry on. They defend you. They share their pain with you and help you with yours.
They know your triggers and avoid triggering them. They know your downfalls and love you anyway. They support your ever-changing wants in life and want you to grow and try new things. They don’t tell you to stay the same because they are fearful you will outgrow them.
They remind you why you should love yourself and deserve to be loved. They pick you up when you need picking up. They tell you to get your shit together when you need to get your shit together. And they help you to get it together! They are always there when it’s not always convenient for them. They allow you to be your most vulnerable — sad, scared, insecure, angry, and they love you through it.
That’s my friend Michelle and she deserves all the love she gets and then some.
Happy birthday, Michelle. I love you with all of my heart.

Leah Remini Instagram – I wanted to share these photos with you and tell you why they mean so much to me.
I dropped by NYU to meet with my Dean, Angie Kamath, and her colleague Michael Foote.
I brought my sister Nicole along and we had such an inspirational meeting.
I’ve shared in the past how incredible but challenging my college journey has been.
After living in a cult for 35 years and having nothing more than an 8th-grade education, the higher education experience has been a very steep uphill climb.
There are days when I feel ashamed that I don’t already know basic facts about a particular issue.
I get so frustrated with myself on these days.
Our mom joined Scientology before we were even in high school. So when we should have been in school, we were responsible for cleaning rooms in a Scientology hotel and living in roach-infested motels.
If you had told either of us ten years ago that we would be at NYU meeting with my Dean, we wouldn’t have believed it.
If you had told us this 30 years ago, we would have thought you were insane.
We honestly thought we were helping save the world by doing what we were doing for Scientology.
So why would we waste our time getting an education from non-Scientologists?
In Scientology, they brainwash you into believing that everything you need in life comes from Scientology.
Therefore, every solution to every problem is within Scientology.
Every answer to every question is within Scientology.
It’s the way all totalitarian systems work, and if you are a part of this system, you become isolated from the real world at a level that is hard for outsiders to comprehend.
It feels wonderful to be back in the city of my birth with my sister and starting over after so many years of feeling isolated from the knowledge many people take for granted.
I got straight A’s last semester and took some additional courses this summer.
I learned so much about geopolitics this summer and how Orientalism impacts depictions of the Middle East.
After meeting with Dean Kamath, my sister decided she wanted to take courses at NYU.
It feels surreal that the two of us may be attending NYU at the same time.
