Der Schweinswal ist nicht nur in heimischen Gewässern wie der Ostsee bedroht. Im Golf von Kalifornien soll es nur noch neun Exemplare der Vaquitas, also der kalifornischen Schweinswale, geben. Damit ist der Schweinswal eines der am stärksten vom Aussterben bedrohten Lebewesen überhaupt. 🐋💀
Es zeigt: Artensterben ist ein globales Problem, welches wir nur gemeinsam stoppen können. Gerade treffen sich in Montreal Vertreter:innen der UN, um über Lösungen zum Erhalt der Artenvielfalt zu finden und Maßnahmen durchzusetzen. 🤝🌐

The porpoise is not only threatened in the Baltic Sea: In the Gulf of California there are said to be only nine specimens of the vaquitas ( = Californian porpoises) left. This makes the porpoise one of the most threatened mammals in the world. 🐋💀
This shows that extinction is a global problem that we can only stop together. Representatives of the UN are currently meeting in Montreal (Canada) to find solutions to protect biodiversity and to implement measures. 🤝🌐
