Video of La Fuerza de la Gravedad (8b flash) is on the @wide_boyz youtube. I was also curious as to what actually are the hardest (Physical difficulty, not mental) single pitch Trad flashes done by both men and women. The list below is what I could think of, but I’m sure there are probably more… – The Path 8b , @alexandermegos – Ronny Medelsvensson 8b, @petewhittaker01 – Greenspit 8b (pre place gear), @steviehaston – Something’s Burning 8a /b, @onceuponaclimb – Grade of 5.13c 8a , a few by @alexhonnold @petewhittaker01 @petterrestorp @hannespuman – Grand illusion 8a , Beth Rodden (pinkpoint?) – Point Blank 8a, @babsizangerl – grade 5.13- (7c /8a), many by @gorisb @amity.warme @hazel_findlay @tradprincess @mariaugustahs @emclimber @bethrodden @babsizangerl Thanks @talomartin for filming this one 🎥💪
@mariaugustahs smashing her project a few weeks back 💪One of my favourite climbing moments of 2022 Technical and powerful moves turning the lip and establishing yourself in the groove on this. It’s a mixture of jamming, slopers and really small crimps, so a full tool kit of techniques is needed. Plus…some patience with conditions; Spring is often wet, Summer can be dry but too hot, Autumn can be good friction but seeping, which leaves you scratching your head for a good day to climb it. The weather God’s came for a surprise 2-3 week spell and the ‘jons’ were in. 📸 Mari on the First Ascent with the desperate foot jam beta 📽️ Puffing away, whist making the second ascent. Tazlov 8b

Very contrasting climbing styles in La Pedriza… Always impressed @mariaugustahs can basically do everything on rock. Whether it’s 5.13 slab, 8A boulders or Choss trundling on Troll Wall 🎉🔥😎 📸 the ledge of La Pedriza @talomartin

Great @patagonia ambassador summit at Red River Gorge over the past couple of weeks. I’m sure everyone goes to RRG for the sport climbing (which obviously was very good)… but this route was defintely the most enjoyable climbing experience I had on the trip. An 8a trad line called ‘Charlie’. Interesting corner moves with an all points off dyno to the finish jug!! My onsight attempt was a very warm and sweaty battle, which I dropped a foot move before the dyno. The second go was much colder and a success. The final photos are from the community event that patagonia put on at Miguels pizza. A great evening Thanks @wmsimek for the climbing shots and @andrew_burr for the event shots Thanks to everyone involved with the trip 💪👍 #redrivergorge #climbing #charlie @pataginia_climb @unparallelup @wildcountry_official @sterlingrope

El Horror (13-) in La Pedriza. Absolutely loved this area. One day you can be upside down in burly cracks, then the following day trusting tiny edges and smears on delicate slabs. It’s a total contrast but enables you to climb many days in a row. Thanks @talomartin for the full tour and film #crackclimbing #lapedriza
I’ve seen @latticetraining go from a concept of banister rails and boards in @tompaulrandall ‘s back garden, into a international coaching business, with world renowned coaches world wide. Considering this, it’s quite funny that Ive never taken a full Lattice Test…until a couple of months ago. The test undoubtedly shows glaring holes in your physical build up (as well as strengths of course). However it got me motivated to target in on some key areas this winter with one of their coaches. Let’s see if I can make some improvements 💪 You can also watch the full video of this test over on @wide_boyz youtube, where there are links to some free @latticetraining testing tools.
Crushing the classics☑️🤘 On his first day of #slabducation @petewhittaker01 made a quick 2nd go 22ºC🔥 ascent of Mater Misericordia, the first 8a ever in La Pedriza climbed in 1994 by @carlosruizsnoopy. _________ #made_by_locals #slabducation _________ @wildcountry_official #pureclimbing _________ #klattring #climbingphotography #escalada #bouldering #climbingrocks #rockclimbing #rockclimbinglife #climbing #climbinglife #climbingpics #klettern #arrampicata #spainclimbing #slabclimbing #kidsclimbing #climbing_pictures_of_instagram #route #photography #sonya6500 #lapedriza #antiparques
It’s not common you get splitters like this on limestone, often they don’t form right or have loads of face holds. However ‘La Fuerza de la Gravedad’ put up by @citro_carlos_logrono_ was an exception to this and an absolute classic. Defintely worth the visit if you’re into crack and close by. Got some beta from Mari, Talo and Tom then managed a flash. Originally given 8b , but i think with new beta through the crux it probably sits at the lower end of 8b. I always think it’s diffcult to flash physically hard trad lines as when the difficulty increases, the danger can often follow, or the gear can be complicated (not all the time of course). However crack climbing gives you a fantastic path into harder trad grades 8b/8b /8c/8c without increasing the spice factor, which is perfect for onsight and flash attempts…another reason why crack is so good! Thanks to @talomartin for the shot, and for shooting some video, which will follow in a few weeks time…it gets pumpy at the end, say tuned 😅 #crackisback #spanishcrack
Solo mission on Hard Rock of The Peak. If anyone wants to know if rope soloing girdle traverses is any good…I highly recommend trying it out on the magnificent Alcasan at Stoney Middleton. Yeh… #ropesololyfe There’s a video coming 😂

Brit Rock 2022 is only one month away! Until then here’s a throwback from last year’s film highlighting @petewhittaker01 & his solo ascent of the imposing Kjerag (1082m) big wall in Norway. Tickets for Brit Rock 2022 in bio! (Online Streaming & UK Tour) #rockclimbing #freesolo #soloclimbing #britrock2022
There’s been a lot of Peak challenges going down over the last few months. There hasn’t been much fast challenge action since The Staffordshire Nose record days, so it’s really cool to see people getting stuck in again. It seemed to start with Wesley Cole and Will Gould climbing Classic Rock in The Peak. Myself and Tom then decided to Tandem ride this round for a YT video, taking a few hours off their time (that video is coming soon). @mheason and Dylan Heason, then took another hour or so off our time, and i believe @tomnewman88 then smashed round in 3hrs 10 mins?! Then there was Hard Rock of The Peak. The routes link up perfectly by bike and this makes for a great day. Originally Pete Davis and Tim Marsh had done this in a round trip from Hunters Bar (Sheffield) in 16 hours (back in 2012). I had the pleasure of doing it both as a solo mission and with @calummuskett a couple of weeks ago. The solo attempt was only thought up the day before, and at 10pm the evening before starting, I double checked the routes in the guidebook and only then realised there were two girdle traverses to complete 😂 My solo mission ended at Cratcliffe, but myself and Calum finished at High Tor in 8 hrs 44mins (time taken from bottom of first route too top of last). Looking forward to seeing the next Hard Rock times, I recommend doing that one as a pair. The solo mission was pretty tedious on one route in particular 😅 📸 biking into Cheedale after the tedious solo of Alcasan in Stoney Middleton #classicrockround #hardrockround
