Happy Birthday to the one and only! Please join me in wishing Mr. @halsparks a fantastic birthday and his very best year ahead yet! Happy B-day, Hal!! Xx
When I read for a dad role (which is fairly common), I sometimes pull out the plaid. Happy Sunday, everyone. Wishing you a great week ahead. #ActorsLife #BestGayLife
Connection, intimacy, and community come in many forms. When I think of those things, these beautiful folks always come to mind — for who they are as people and for the community of connection they (and we) had the opportunity to portray through the characters we played on QAF.
Many of us gay folks may have, at some point, created community by default, out of our old limited thinking. As a result, we might have people around us who aren’t as supportive of our dreams, goals, and visions as they could be. In fact, sometimes they’re the opposite of supportive.
Yet when we create community consciously and out of the more awakened parts of us, we find ourselves increasingly surrounded by those who want the best for us — folks with whom we can be open and honest and vulnerable and intimate. Given where we come from, this isn’t always the easiest thing to achieve.
That’s a big part of why I started BEST GAY LIFE Group Coaching. Making the effort to keep “waking up” to our inherent value and to creating this supportive community of folks will pay off in countless ways throughout our lives. It’s truly worth the effort.

Happy Thanksgiving from Los Angeles, Everyone. A little reflection time before heading to dinner. I believe this journey is ultimately about the folks we share it with and our connection to one another. And I’m very grateful for all of you and our being connected. Thank you for walking this path together. I look forward to continuing to share it in the years to come. Much love and wishes for a beautiful weekend. #HappyThanksgiving
Loved getting to spend time with my @UofPenn fraternity brother Johnny and his partner Robyn. He and I have known each other a heck of a long time. It’s a special thing to have folks in your life who’ve witnessed your longer journey. Our college years were seminal in part because I was still largely in hiding and fairly early in my coming out process. It’s a blessing to share a more open, honest, and deeper connection at this point in life. Much more to come!

I’m sorry to hear the news of Kirstie Alley‘s passing. I have memories of working with her on Veronica‘s Closet. She was warm and welcoming. And maybe a little flirtatious. 😉 It was shortly before I started on Queer as Folk, and I wasn’t out yet professionally as an actor. (There are some recollections of the experience I’ll save for another day.) It was also my first time playing a gay character. In this case, her dental hygienist, Bernie. 🙂 More recent politics aside, she was great to work with at the time. As were @kathynajimy, Wally Langham, and Ken Marino. Rest in peace. One of the most essential aspects in living our best lives is to have a community, no matter the size, that fully supports us.
Once we know who we really are and have clarified what we really want for our lives and gotten the things out of the way that are keeping that from happening, we focus, as best we can, on holding the vision of those intentions and taking actions toward them.
That’s where our circle of fellows comes in. They can really make all the difference in living the life we really want, in living our best gay lives.
I started group coaching with this in mind, knowing how challenging it can be, given our historical messaging, to connect with others at an intimate level and form community from that place.
The good news is that we are not alone. And we never have been. Much love, my fellows.

I was sorry to see the news of Louise Fletcher‘s recent passing. I had the good fortune to play her son on a film many years ago. I remember being so excited to get to work with her, most known for her legendary and Oscar-winning portrayal of Nurse Ratched in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” She couldn’t have been more lovely.
I especially recall her sharing stories in the make-up room, including some about Jack Nicholson. In one, she recounted a time he helped her when a group Oscar photo was being taken. She was off to the side amid other high-profile Oscar winners, somewhat lost in the shuffle, when Jack saw her, said “Come here, kid,” and pulled her smack into the middle of the pack. It was clearly a sweet memory for her.
Rest in peace, Louise.

Well, the webinar on Tuesday had a wonderful turn out! It was exciting to connect with so many of my gay fellows. Though I heard from many folks who weren’t able to make the time and asked whether I would do it again. So, yes, let’s do it again TOMORROW/SATURDAY at 11am PT!
We’ll talk once more about some of the nuts and bolts of how this thing works for us as gay men!
•Why we have the conditioning we have, at least as it relates to being gay.
•How we can identify and then release stored negative emotions and limiting decisions that influence how we perceive and experience everything that happens in our lives.
•How our subconscious mind plays a role in all of this in ways we might never have realized.
•What we can do to clarify and chart our course for a life we’d love to live.
•How we can build, grow, and foster a community that will support us to be our best selves and live our best lives.
And, of course, the opportunity to ask questions about and discuss all of the above!
JOIN ME this Saturday, September 24th at 11:00am PT/2:00pm ET for the FREE WEBINAR, “Overcome Inner Obstacles and Get Your BEST GAY LIFE Mindset.”
