Today in three images (but this captures the last two months and next three of my life). . After an abnormal pap (abnormal glandular tissue—not the more common squamous), I had my first ever surgery and my first experience under general anesthesia. My gynecologist performed a LEEP, endocervical curettage, and D&C (yes a D&C is also commonly used for abortion but it’s an amazing multi-use procedure! Mine was for biopsy and pathology purposes). The bad news is it came back adenocarcinoma in situ—cancer of the endocervix, often called “stage zero.” The good news is it is incredibly treatable. The bad news is treatment is a total hysterectomy (cervix, uterus, and Fallopian tubes). The good news is I got to keep my ovaries. The posted photos are from that very procedure today. The first is before, then after the IV and draw, then in recovery. I’m home now. I’m doing pretty well, considering the circumstances. The pain is pretty intense but I’m 💪💪💪. I want to thank all of my friends and family for their love and support, my listeners for their incredibly kind messages, and most of all, Ash, for taking such good care of me even when I’m being obnoxious (I’m only calling you that bc I know you hate it). Love you all. And an extra special hug to anyone with or without a uterus who is dealing with the fall out and complicated emotions of the overturn of Roe vs. Wade. I’m with you, ladies, trans men and women, intersex, gender non-binary, and non-conforming folx. We’ve got this 💪

Okay yeah sleep studies are weird. Now I have to stay awake for two hours, then nap. Then awake then nap. Then awake then nap. Sure no problem 🥱😴💤
