I have been on a Watermelon Sugar high all summer long. I have literally eaten watermelon almost every day since summer started 🍉😋. I just love it. So I wanted to make a watermelon cake. Which is not really a cake at all, but more of a watermelon sculpture in the shape of a cake with some berries around it to be honest. But it’s fun and it’s beautiful and it’s a conversation piece at a BBQ. Full discloser: making this cake is very messy especially if your watermelon is exceptionally juicy like mine was. Also make sure to use the appropriate knife because cutting a watermelon like that is not easy. But it’s worth it because it’s a showstopper. And each one is unique and comes out a little different. I’d love to see how yours turn out!!
Just one of our many unforgettable moments on the island of Rhodes. This was on Red Sand Beach. The beach is inhabited by wild goats that the locals feed everyday. As you can see they are incredibly domesticated and not afraid of people at all. It is very difficult to access unless you are on a boat. We rented a boat for the day and toured the entire island going from beach to beach. This was one was truly special and like nothing I had EVER seen before. We jumped off the boat and swam to shore so that we could all feed them and it was incredible. Except that the red sand felt more like hot lava on our feet. 🤪🔥🇬🇷

There is nothing better to me than getting in the kitchen and cooking and baking around the holidays with my family and loved ones. Most of my childhood memories revolve around being in the kitchen with my relatives, cooking and laughing and just enjoying each other. Come to think of it…everything always seemed to happen in the kitchen or around the dining room table in my house. Good news, bad news, celebrations, punishments….all of it. Because of this the kitchen has always been my favorite room in every house. I hope to pass this same love of cooking and baking and being creative and having fun in the kitchen down to Alexandra as well. The sooner you get your little ones comfortable and having fun with cooking…the sooner you will have your own personal chef. 😜 I asked her if she wanted to make Christmas cookies and she said, “No, Christmas cupcakes!” So here they are. It was so much fun and she did a great job. As promised just a few of the highlights from our boat trip across the entire island of Rhodes. We rented a boat and went from one end of the island to the other stopping at the most beautiful and interesting beaches and in Lindos the farthest end of the island to visit the ancient Acropolis of Rhodes and the Temple of Athena which was built in the 9th century and is the second most intact Ancient Greek ruin in Greece (the Acropolis and Parthenon in Athens being the 1st). We stopped at Tsambika Bay, Anthony Quinn Beach (they named a beach after him and gave him beach front property in the most beautiful bay after the success of “Zorba The Greek”), Kalithea Beach, Faliraki, Red Sands (where we fed wild goats on the beach), Lindos beach and a few more little bats off the beaten path. Alexandra even drove the boat for part of it 🤪. These videos don’t come close to how beautiful these beaches and how crystal blue and green these waters are. It was truly spectacular. If you ever get a chance to visit Greece, I highly recommend you make a trip to Rhodes. What an incredible island full of so much rich history. 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
I came home to the sweetest surprise package the other day. Waiting for me in front of my door was the most adorable mini cooler covered in 🍒cherries. At first I thought Alexandra had left one of her dolls toys outside. Then when I got closer I noticed it had my friend @shoshannagruss @shopshoshanna name on it. Now if you know Shoshanna you know she has the most incredible line of dresses and separates that are super fun and feminine. I always feel so beautiful when I wear her pieces. But there is no way a dress was inside of that cooler. I was very curious!! I opened it to find some yummy cookies, a few tinted lip balms, a beautiful red fingernail polish and not one but TWO adorable bathing suits in her original cherry print🍒🍒….mommy and me!!! Shoshanna started her clothing business 20 years ago doing swimsuits and she continues to make the cutest best fitting suits to this day. I actually had the original cherry 🍒 suit 20 years ago, that I retired last year. So this is perfect timing!! I knew Alexandra would be just as excited about the cute cooler as she was about what was inside. So I wrapped it all back up for her to reopen when she got home from school. As you can imagine the cookies were a big hit as were the swimsuits. Congrats on your continued success sweet friend. Some days life really is a bowl full of cherries. #summer #swimsuit #classic 🍒🍒
