November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, and I’m especially proud to show off my robot parts. 💪🤖 You would never know by looking at my Instagram page now, but for a long time, I didn’t like to give myself insulin injections in public or even tell people I’m diabetic. I wouldn’t even consider getting an insulin pump, because I didn’t want people to know I had diabetes just by looking at me.
As time went by, I slowly became more confident with myself and with my diabetes. I’m so grateful that I found @Omnipod, because I had no idea that a tubeless insulin pump even existed. Now, I love showing off my Pod and my robot parts, and I would never want to hide them. Why should I be hiding something that’s keeping me alive?
It’s been 13 years now, and diabetes still has its ups and downs, but I think that it’s only made me stronger. 💙
