It’s been an incredible five years at @theprojecttv but it’s time to say goodbye… xxx
Long before @bickmorecarrie and I were @theprojecttv colleagues, we were mates off air working at different networks. And I feel so lucky to have now also shared the last five years at the Project desk with you, Carrie.
Your friendship and generosity have meant the world to me. Thanks too for your guidance and support right from day one…and for always knowing just the right moment to reach out with a kind word.
I will forever be in awe of the way you have managed to juggle it all so superbly for the last 13 incredible years: awesome mum, journalist, charity patron, and chief wrangler of @mrstommylittle
We mere mortals will never know how you did it all with so much grace, good humour and all that glamour. (Let’s face it, you’ve always been the best-dressed one at the desk – sorry Waleed, @pjhelliar & Hamish, but you know it’s true!)
I know what a huge decision this has been for you, and we are all going to miss you terribly come year’s end. Can’t wait to see what comes next in your extraordinary life, or to share that next glass of wine – or five – with you! 🥂
All my love and admiration, always, L.xxxx❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Genius! 😉 Also works on wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, parents, kids, etc…
You’re welcome. And merry Christmas! 😘😘😘🎄
You are my sunshine @billifitz ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
In 2009, at the age of 50, actor, screenwriter and all ‘round legend of a woman, Emma Thompson, sat down and wrote a letter to her younger self.
I was reminded of this letter today reading about her recently revealed thoughts on how she dealt with the time she discovered years before, that her husband, Kenneth Branagh, was regularly cheating on her.
God I love her attitude…to everything.
Always quick to call out Hollywood’s obsession with ageing and unrealistic beauty standards, she once even threatened to quit a movie when her female co-star was told to lose weight.
This letter sums it all up really…
That’s a Christmas wrap for The Project…and a fond farewell to five fabulous years for me. 👋🥰
(And yes those are margaritas…and no, this time I’m not drinking alone – swipe left and you’ll see why🥂😂).

Sunny Sunday morning vibes with Maggie. Feels like a good one…
I have so much to be grateful to Ita Buttrose for, and if you’ve read my autobiography, you’ll know that it all started with a note she wrote me when I was a young, wet-behind-the-ears magazine editor in the early 80s just starting out.
By the mid-80s I’d become editor of CLEO, the game-changing magazine she had successfully launched back in 1972, and then in the mid-90s when I moved across to TV, we became fellow panellists on Beauty & The Beast – and we both had a ball. In the years since our paths have continued to cross in so many ways.
See the whole story, Monday on @abctv’s Australian Story.
I’ve been collecting inspiring quotes and words of wisdom – torn out of magazines, scribbled down in notebooks and put away in diaries in my bottom drawer – ever since before I can even remember.
And for anyone who has read my autobiography, you’ll know that I shared some of my absolute favourites at the beginning of each chapter of my book.
So, at the end of what I know for many has been a difficult few years, I’m sharing some of them with you now. I hope you find them as inspiring as I have.
The first one you see here is from my favourite Australian poet, the brilliant (and far-too-young-to-be-so-darn-wise) @courtneypeppernell from her exquisite book, Pillow Thoughts II: Healing The Heart. Honestly, if you’re looking for words to soothe and literally, gently, stitch the heart and soul back together, any of Courtney’s stunning books with her superb poetry nestled within their pages will do it for you. For more of her beautiful brilliance, she is so worth following on insta…❤️❤️❤️
Meantime, if you have any favourite sayings or quotes you’ve collected over the years, I’d love it if you would share your favourite in the comments below…🙏🌺😘📝

Love you Melbourne.❤️❤️❤️
Tried something a little different with the hair tonight at @theprojecttv desk. 🤪
Love your work @goochihmua @kjae_hair ❤️❤️❤️

Well this was a treat!
First time I’ve ever interviewed this absolute legend @sirrodstewart – and he certainly didn’t disappoint.
Outrageous as ever – and incredibly candid about his wife Penny, the wild old days, the mess the UK is in right now, and the pretty raw advice he has been giving his kids lately.
We even ended up having a good old chat about our late dads…and what happens at the end just blew me away.
Tune in to @theprojecttv tonight to find out what it was…in his only Australian TV interview – 6.30pm tonight on @theprojecttv @channel10au
