A successful run of SHG motivated her to form more than 200 groups in and around Shivamogga town. After running SHG groups, she stepped into the Co-operative sector and formed Snehavahini Mahila Co-operative bank for women only and brought more than 1500 working women under bank membership. This cooperative bank is one of the two only women’s banks in Karnataka state which is running successfully for the past 10 years. This has helped many women with small businesses to achieve financial freedom. S.V. Chandrakala is also awarded KITTUR RANI CHENNAMMA state award by former chief minister B S Yediyurappa.
She has helped bring financial support to many women with small businesses, contributing towards a greener environment and empowering women writers and in my opinion, she is a #TrueLegend
