Sharing some good news – #Zwigato is going to open the Kaleidoscope section of the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala! Excited that it’s now going to premiere in India. Hope it connects with the audiences like it did at @tiff_net and @busanfilmfest

I am here! Rushed in straight from the airport to watch the opening film by Dardenne brothers ‘Tori and Lokita’ at the @iffklive. Reminded me of their film that won the Palme d’Or in 2005 when I was in the jury in #cannes It was for their film L’enfant (the child).
Tomorrow is a big day for #Zwigato. Whoever is here, it is screening at the Kairali Cinema at 3pm.

It was a packed house. Aisles were full and lines outside were long. Finally the Indian premiere of #zwigato is done! As always, the@iffklive audiences were super enthusiastic and engaged. @chainanisunil of Applause Entertainment and I fielded all the questions. The first one was as expected “How come @kapilsharma?!”A story that is indeed interesting!
Many of you have asked about the release of the film. We want to show you as much as you want to watch it. We’ll let you know soon.
After the screening, I rushed to the inaugural session of the Open Forum, an integral part of the festival. Often I find myself as the only woman on the panel. But the needle is moving. At least there are more of us now telling stories, making films. Watch them!!

Long gap but so what! The Uganda story needs to be completed. And it wouldn’t be without the last leg of the trip. Went to the source of the Nile. Magical to see the Lake Victoria and the whirlpool that gives birth to the Nile. Water separates water. My son explained to me the science behind it! Also saw the oldest bridge on the river and a #gandhi statue. According to his will, we were told, his ashes had to be immersed in the 3 longest rivers in the world. Nile being one of them.
And then finally we had restful last two days with the most loving Indian family there. Gentle, affectionate, lovers of nature, peacocks for sure and so were the people around them. We had the best Gujju food there! Came back with a lifetime of memories. Thank you #mehtas #uganda #lugazi

Just when you thought the #eastafrica chronicle is over, here is more! Just got caught up with work when I got back to the grind. The lovely holiday already seems far away. But sharing with you is like keeping one’s diary so a few more before I can move on to other things! So here is the #hotairballoon experience. Magical to be gliding over #savannah #forest and spotting #animals from up in the sky. Hippo tracks looked like some machine roller had made them. Was worth waking up at 4 and seeing the sunrise from the skies. Not to be missed if you can. #kenya

Honoured and delighted to be the chief guest at the Laadli Awards Night. The work that the awardees have done was so inspiring. And the one and only @ijaising received the lifetime achievement award. I’ve grown up knowing and admiring her. Also the conversations on the sidelines made the evening special. Thank you @dollythakore @laadli_pf, @population_first and @unfpaindia for including me in celebrating so many amazing women. #laadliawards NCPA Mumbai
