The film that began it all for me. My first film! Mira Nair walked into my life and directed me into cinema! Mississippi Masala has been remastered, remixed. Coming out in theaters April 15! And on the @criterioncollection. A film that echoes these troubled times of war, rulers and refugees but will hopefully help the soul with its love and humour. Ok. So. It started with me doing Sonejuhi Sinha’s (director/writer) short films. Loved her dry wit, her grit. She teamed up with writer Charlotte Rabate, and her intelligent, beautiful subtle humour. Nicky Weinstock believed in the vision and steered the ship to this!! Aaaaaaaah!
