Sometimes your heart holds on to a kind of pain that your mind doesn’t quite understand. You don’t think of it often but it hurts when you do. Out of Tune was born out of that pain. Writing it down on paper felt like therapy. Singing it feels like healing. I feel I grow more at peace with my past one song at a time. This is the story of how I was naive enough to be vulnerable and let my guard down for someone who always kept theirs up. Thank you for teaching my heart how to love harder.

It’s amazing that I get to simply share my life with you in songs. This was born out of a feeling of never being enough for someone, or being too much. Never on the same page, always out of tune. Where you give so much just for an ounce of affection, moulding yourself into a version you don’t recognise, only to be broken again. Put my heart on paper and @prabhtojsingh brought it to life. I know too many hearts have felt this way, this is just my story.

Out of Tune is a poignant ballad that chronicles a kind of love that was never truly aligned or attuned.
I asked @sanjeeta11 a few questions about her new release, and she put all her heart in answering them for you.
When you stumble upon parts of yourself you gave away to people who were once indispensable in your life, you’re reminded of the vulnerabilities & insecurities that you thought were past you.
People who you once shared special memories with often become a mere passing character in your journey, and you can’t help but feel compelled to come to terms with how they are no longer a part of it.
Out of Tune beautifully captures this emotion. Blending elements of Indian classical music through the Sarangi, along with Bulgarian folk adlibs, this soulful song brings together Sanjeeta, Prabhtoj Singh, and their musical inspirations.

@mominkhanofficial is the surprise I didn’t know I needed bringing in one of my most favourite sounds. The sarangi feels like longing, pain and somehow, home.
@rythempiano went from being my school band mate to this exceptionally tasteful musician. Such a pleasure having him on this song!
