Arunoday Singh Instagram – “It was a morning in early summer. A silver haze shimmered and trembled over the lime trees.
The air was laden with their fragrance. The temperature was like a caress.
I remember – I need not recall – that I climbed up a tree stump and felt suddenly immersed in ‘It-ness’.
I did not call it by that name. I had no need for words.
It and I were one.”
by Bernard Berenson.
Passage from his book Sketch for a Self Portrait

Sometimes you come across the perfect bit of writing for the perfect moment and feel something approaching what Berenson is describing. I read this sitting on my favorite balcony with my favorite girl, writing and listening to music, in a yellow house by the sea. And the miracle of it all took my breath away. | Posted on 06/Oct/2022 17:32:23
