My favorite gifts to give and receive are books. If you need a recommendation (or five!), there’s a list of my all-time favorites at the link in my bio.
It’s safe to say this was one of my favorite days. @jenniferkgates and @nayelnassar, your love is worth celebrating every day. Cheers to your first anniversary!
Luxembourg may be small, but its generosity (and strength) is extraordinary.
As the weather transitions back to its cool, mostly rainy state in Seattle, I’m reflecting on the times I got to spend outside this summer. Here’s to s’more nights like this one.
Why should you give a crap about toilets? More than 500,000 people die from sanitation-related diseases every year. It’s a problem that can be solved by smarter toilets that don’t rely on sewage systems and prevent the spread of diseases. #WorldToiletDay
I’ve been working on my pickleball “dinks” and ”skinny singles” for over 50 years now. My dad was one of pickleball’s original players. I think he would’ve gotten a kick out of seeing how popular the sport has become.

How can we prevent the next pandemic? Practice. In Brussels, I participated in an exercise simulating how the world might respond to a future disease outbreak. Thank you @johnshopkinssph and @who and all of the other participants for taking part in this important work.

It’s on us to bring the pieces together. Thank you to the investors, policymakers, innovators, and consumers playing a role in preventing a climate disaster.
We need bold solutions to solve some of our toughest challenges. Become a Gates Notes Insider to join the conversation.
@reddit and I go way back. I’m participating in my 11th Reddit AMA at 12:30pm PST. See you there.
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to visit the Kanawha River Power Plant. I learned a lot.
Looking for a scare today? Look no further than this creepy tale of my visit to a parasite museum in Tokyo.
Of all the sci-fi I read as a teenager, this one is still my favorite
