I took this pic back in 2016 right before Atlanta debuted having no clue what the show was about. And as the series comes to an end this week I really just want to take the time to give all the creators their flowers. This shit is going to go down as one of the most influential shows in the history of television. They found a way to open up a can of worms for filmmakers like me when it comes to creativity, approach, and intention. The kings of tone, composition and taste. I can’t even measure the amount of inspiration they’ve given me. Anyone that I’ve collaborated has probably heard me say “it’s should look or feel like Atlanta” a million times, no cap.
Thank you to Hiro, Christian, Donald, Fam, Swank, Steve, Ibra and everyone else that played apart in showing the world once again that we aren’t a monolith and our stories can be told in far out, awkward and imaginative ways.
