Anna Paquin Instagram – 2nd EDIT- and if anyone is curious as to why I keep what’s left of my actual accent hidden most of the time (other than needing to pass as American for most of my work) the comment section here is a perfect example of why folks end up assimilating. It gets really boring having to explain your own speaking voice over and over. EDIT- yeah so I have what’s left of a New Zealand accent because I grew up there and when I’m not around any Americans my LEARNED accent I need for work switches off. Also since people seem to be interested or have opinions having kids brought my “mother tongue” NZ accent out of hibernation because speaking to my kids in a learned accent feels funny and fake.
