Starting at 11:57 p.m. on Saturday night, police received several 911 calls from the venue, a nightclub called Club Q, according to CNN. Officers then entered the club and took custody of a person who they believed to be a suspect, per a press conference by Colorado Springs Police Lt. Pamela Castro. “Club Q is devastated by the senseless attack on our community,” the venue said in a statement on its Facebook page. “Our prays and thoughts are with all the victims and their families and friends. We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack.” According to the same Facebook page, Club Q had been hosting a drag night on Saturday featuring performer Del Lusional followed by a dance party featuring a DJ named T BEATZ.
