I loved attending as a kid, so it’s such a thrill to be invited back to the Somerset Celebration of Literature as an author. Although being on stage is a little frustrating because I miss out of hearing from all the fantastic authors. 😏
And yes those post-it notes are for kids names, I’d be totally lost without them. Can write books. ✔️Can not spell names! ❌ 📷 @hcboz

When I spotted Indigo Blue hiding on the very bottom shelf of an airport bookshop today I plucked up the courage to, ahem, accidentally leave it in a far more prominent position. Naughty? 🙈🙊

For those not already following the GGR is a ‘retro’ solo nonstop race around the world founded by one of my biggest supporters Don McIntyre. Events like this have a way of attracting interesting characters including @jesselionheart, Dilip Donde (India’s first solo circumnavigator who’s path I nearly crossed during my voyage) and Sir Robin Knox-Johnston’s iconic yacht Suhaili. Good luck to the fleets only female entry @susiegoodallracing! 🌍⛵️

Sharing the stage and swapping stories (not all as serious as my expression implies!) with teenager polar explorer @jadehameister for @mercedesmestore.melbourne earlier this week.
It’s been quite a couple of weeks, and because I’m so hopeless at timely posting here’s a quick round-up of the highlights; ➖So very many questions about mythical sea creatures, resilience and writing at while visiting schools with my publisher @hcboz. 🦑🧞♂️💪 ➖Lots of lovely media to tell absolutely anyone who’ll listen about my new book Indigo Blue. 🗣🗣🗣 ➖Presenting at @mtatravel’s superb conference and catching up with many familiar faces. 👋 ➖Attending inspiring #internationalwomensday events with Sandra Sully (@shortblack_ ), among countless fabulous others! 🤩 ➖And with very apt, if unintentional timing half a dozen catch-ups with fantastic women. Feeling a little blown away and very grateful to be surrounded by so many generous friends and mentors 🤗😊. Also grateful that it’s time for a quiet weekend! A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and made yesterday’s book launch possible (yes another launch!). This was a special one for me, at one of my fave yacht clubs (Black Rock), hosted by one of my fave bookshops (Beaumaris Books) and with so many mates there (thank you all for coming!). The gale-force winds and choppy bay set the scene beautifully for my recount of one of the more stormy scenes in Indigo Blue! 💙😊💨🌊🧜♂️⛵️📚
