I never read anything about me or my work. Least of all reviews. Everyone is entitled to their views but I don’t want to be impacted by praise or criticism. I did what best I could and now it is for each viewer to take from it what they want. But on the insistence of some of my close friends, I read this review that came out soon after @iffk_live and I have to say I was happy to know that the intent behind the film has reached its viewer. This one for sure. (And if I may say so myself, many more!)

This morning my mother and I were at the Sabarmati Ashram. Perfect place to be on the new year. it was the release of a book on Mahadev Desai. So much of what we know about Gandhi is thanks to his personal secretary, frontline reporter and confidant, Mahadevbhai. They were inseparable for the 25 years he was with Gandhi. Such a privilege to listen to the author Nachiketa Desai about his grandfather. The other experts also shed light on the role Mahadevbhai played in chronicling those times.

I spent a delightful morning with the 9th grade children of Shiv Srushti School in Kurla. We had a stimulating conversation about discrimination and prejudice. They had so many questions and so much to share. I am always happy to be part of initiatives like @teachforindia that give me an opportunity to engage with children. We grownups have a big responsibility of ensuring that children never lose the joy of learning and the space to question. We need to keep their confidence and idealism intact.
