Nathalie Kelley Instagram – ⚠️Trigger warning ⚠️ I share this post with heaviness in my heart and deep admiration for my sister @ninagualinga and her bravery in coming forward with the story. Sadly, Nina’s experience of abuse at the hands of her partner is all too common. So is the lack of justice and complete impunity for these violent offenders in judicial systems all over the world. Especially when the victims are indigenous women. In the case of fellow Ecuadorian Andrea Gualinga, who was murdered earlier this year at the hands of her partner. Her murder occurred while her restraining order against him was “pending.” Violence against indigenous women runs, parallel with violence against their lands – with the perpetrators of this violence, often simultaneously participating in both. Enough is enough. I demand the Ecuadorian judicial system to act on Nina’s case now. Enough impunity for violent offenders.
