If y’all would’ve told me back in 2018, when I graduated from film school with my MFA in directing, that my satirical, tonally fluid, black as hell lil character study would be nominated for any kind of award… I probably would’ve told y’all to stop playing with me. Nominated for an Independent Spirit Award… not sure I really have the words to express how this feels. BUT I could talk about @morereginahall allllllllll damn day. Regina, I’m never not blown away by damn near every performance you’ve ever given us. You’ve been a staple in Black Hollywood for freaking ever, and the life and pain and comedic genius you breathed into Trinitie Childs is only a fraction of the talent and spirit you’ve got in that five foot even lil bit body. This is more than well deserved. Proud is a goddamn understatement. Shout out to Team Honk Man. Shout out @adanne.ebo, my other half and the other half of this film. And shout out God.
