I grew up watching Mom read two books a week! As i aspire to nurture my reading habits and ensure i read more books this year, here are some of the books by my bedside.
‘Humankind’ by Rutger Bregman – Have read it once already, keep going back to it. It’s always by my bed side.
‘Cinema Speculation’ by Quentin Tarantino – the joy and privilege of reading a non fiction piece by one of the greatest of all time! A new year present from my husband.
‘The Lion Trackers Guide To Life’ by Boyd Varty – read and reread. Keep going back to the gems this book has to offer! One of my favourite gifts to give friends.
Currently reading ‘Oneness With All Life’ by Eckhart Tolle – This book is everything i need to learn right now. Having read The Power Of Now, A New Earth and now this book Eckhart Tolle has helped me heal and learn to become more present and aware.

I must have been 4 years old when Chaandmiyan started working with our family. It was his responsibility to take me to school and bring me back. His autorikshaw was my safe space.
He had 4 daughters and my family trusted him with my care. I would often accompany him to the bazaar where he would let me help him pick fruits and vegetables from the cart. After they had been weighed and paid for he would let me plant them in the basket i would carry with me. This was our favourite activity together…
He would regale me with stories of his daughters and my first performance to ‘mere hathon mein nau nau choodiyan hain’ was at his daughters wedding… so many memories are rushing back today as i heard the news of his passing on.
He lived with a deep sense of loyalty and duty and cared so deeply for our family. I will always remember him with gratitude and love 🙏🏻🕊️🦋
