Been playing around with this project in my spare time and felt like cutting together a feel for how I imagine the show if it was made. Tokusatsu is such a niche genre that not many people fuck with but I love it and want to play in the space. Busy writing this up and making more visuals to support this and hopefully pitch soon!
Synopsis
Toku Mask a deconstruction of the japanese Tokusatsu (Japanese spandex super heroes) genre following the story of 2 newly appointed detectives, a street brawler turned cop Johnny Train & the cosplaying optimistic and childlike Toku, partnered together in a government agency (THE AGENCY). This Agency undertakes fighting Monster and mutant related crimes in the semi – dystopian “Monster City”.
The pair, having polar opposite personalities and temperaments clash with Johnny on a vengeful quest to find the murderer of his mentor Samuel by an infamous new masked mutant criminal called ONE MASK and Toku , a seemingly low ranked Masked Mutant agent with a mysterious past.
