Trevor Nelson Instagram – I was working behind the counter at Red records in Beak st ,soho,when De la soul dropped their debut album ‘3 feet high and rising’ . I loved everything on def jam and ‘Cold chillin,but this album was me.Along with A tribe called quest, they changed the game. I literally made it a personal mission to sell a copy of their album to anyone who walked in our store. Amazingly,I’ve ended up on the same bill as them,even doing a gig a couple of months ago,with Dave Jolicoeur conspicuously absent. I had no idea why. Last week he sadly passed away.
