HE LIVESSS!!! 🥳 The surgery went very well, and the surgeons were able to remove 90% of the cancer from his body! PuuuhRAISE!!! 🙌 Thank you all for your continued and humbling show of love, and light, and thoughts, and prayers, and just overall intentional, positive energy that you have sent his, and our, way. It has meant more than any of these words can really say. 🙏 The hope now is that between these new drugs targeting the remaining cancer in his body, and all the scrumptious, natural stuff we’re gonna be pumping him with, we can get him back to living his life, pimp walkin his way down the promenade in Ventura, puttin out the Papa-D vibezzz. 😎 We’ll keep y’all updated along the journey as we wind thru it. Sending you all the most insane amount of love and gratitude. 🤗
According to a report by researchers at Harvard Medical School, advertisements from drug companies are likely putting consumers at a disadvantage.
They detailed that, “The FDA cannot limit the amount of money companies spend on advertising; nor can it ban ads for drugs that have serious risks. Companies don’t have to spell out exactly how the drug works, mention the cost, or note if there is a generic drug in the same class or a similar drug with fewer risks.”
The privileges granted to drug companies in the U.S. are likely one of the reasons why American citizens are the most drug using (and abusing) humans in the world.
Drugs absolutely have their place. But the billions of dollars drug companies invest in advertising each year has given the industry the incentive to make healthy people think they’re unhealthy. And the ads have also contributed to the unrealistic expectations about what a drug can do.
The drug tagline to “ask your doctor” has, in fact, contributed to more prescriptions being written, according to a study cited in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Does this extra incentive to seek and prescribe drugs come at a cost?
Well, the EJS Center for Ethics at Harvard University states that FDA approved drugs cause approximately 2.74 million hospitalizations EVERY YEAR.
The researchers reported that nearly 130,000 people are killed each year in the U.S. from taking prescription drugs, ranking these drug deaths in the top 10 causes of death. But, they state, “The FDA does not acknowledge these facts and instead gathers a small fraction of the cases.”
The FDA enables drug companies to incessantly advertise their drugs on television.
It’s the same FDA that now receives nearly half of their funding from drug companies, to the tune of billions of dollars annually.
The FDA and drug companies also have a revolving door of shared personnel. In fact, 9 of the last 10 FDA Commissioners, themselves, have gone on to work for drug companies.
The entire system seems to be compromised and profiting from the sickness of Americans.

I look at this lil’ dude and I see my life. Not merely because of the genetic obvious. I mean it’s like looking into the coolest, trippiest mirror. Even though he’s not “mine”, his parents are sooooooo lucky that he somehow got sooooooo much of his groovy AF uncle’s grooviness. 😏💅 But on a much, much deeper level as well. He was the truest reason why I didn’t end my life 5 years ago.
He was only 1 at the time. Just a baby. I barely knew him, and he knew me even less. I wasn’t really concerned with the loss that I thought he would feel in that moment, cuz, ya know, baby. His entire reality was drinkin booby juice, shittin his pants, and makin the ladies swoon, as it should be. By the time he was intelligent enough to know what happened, it wouldn’t have any real affect on his little heart or mind. But that’s only half right.
Once I allowed myself to realize how much ending my life would wreak havoc on the lives around me, especially my sisters, all I could imagine was how much that pain would inevitably spill off onto him. The anger, and confusion, and sadness that would be a part of his holidays and family gatherings, at least thru his most formative years. And therefore the amount of psychological trauma he would be experiencing at the hands of it all.
Five short years ago I nearly ended it all because of years and years of unhealed psychological trauma, and in the middle of that darkness the idea of passing that on to this little soul was the only thing keeping me out of an early grave. Because I couldn’t bare that. He deserved to grow up in the healthiest, happiest, most loving family, and home possible. He deserved to have a mother who could be there for him entirely, and not still suffering thru whatever emotional damage I left her and the rest of my family and friends with.
So today I have a lot to be thankful for. I’m thankful for all of my immeasurable blessings. I’m thankful for my wonderful friends and family, and all of their love. But mostly, I’m thankful for that moment of clarity in the midst of the darkness that kept me from trying to solve a very temporary problem with a very permanent solution.
