LONG POST ALERT-
Truth Be Told !
Motherhood has made me more resilient in innumerable ways, 💪
But it has also heightened my ‘Survival Instinct’
And thats why the adventurous side of me has taken a back seat and I prefer keeping away from events and stunts that can harm me!
That is because the Mother in me wants to keep herself alive and healthy for her child for as long as possible !
My heart races faster for the smallest or the biggest danger around me.🤷♀️
And then comes a Moment LIKE THIS –
I took Mehr to a petting farm and while we were just watching the handler chilling with this Baby Iguana ,
Out of no where without any warning or permission,
The handler placed the Iguana on my HEAD with Mehr attached to my hip!
THAT VERY FRACTION OF SECOND
Was the biggest Dilemma of the decade for me and I had to choose my response to the situation QUICKLY.
I had 2 choices-
1) Shout and Panic and ask the handler to take The Iguana off me.
Which would in turn instil fear and panic in my daughter in lot many ways that I can imagine right now.
2)Take charge of my fears and brave it out in front of my daughter so that she develops fearlessness as a virtue that will be the starting point of developing Bravery and Courage for Life !
Honestly,
Making The right choice wasnt difficult at all. It actually came to me quite organically,
I just had to paste a fake smile and power through.
Later that evening on our way back home,
I told Mehr very honestly,
I said,’Mamma was very scared when the Iguana was placed on my head but I took a deep breath and faced my fears and within a few seconds my fear ran away.I am a brave girl and I am very proud of my self!’
All she did was listen to me Quietly…
While her beautiful lil brain absorbed the intensity of what she had experienced ! ❤️
Skills Practised are just the cherry on the cake! 🍒

Looking for a Weekend trip with your toddler near Mumbai ?
Here is what we did-
Left at around 9am from Mumbai and reached Lonavla at sharp 11am.
Checked into a nice resort with a swimming pool and a play area.
Spent the entire day at the property.
Basically enjoying the weather!
Next morning we went to
Japalouppe Equestrian Centre,Talegaon, which is a Horse riding school cum Petting farm 40 mins away from Lonavla.
Here are some imp deets regarding the petting farm –
🌸I booked the visiting day and slot beforehand ONLINE and paid 50% as an advance.
🌸Since the weather was lovely we took the afternoon tour which begins at 12noon
🌸It will take you max 3 hours end to end
🌸The package includes the petting tour and a lovely veg meal.Not exactly non spicy for kids but we managed having Dal Chawal with Raita to balance out the mirchi!
🌸Pony rides are available at the end of the tour and is chargeable.
It is w good 15-20min pony ride mind u.
🌸The feeding bucket is just treats for the animals so use it wisely and follow what they tell u in the orientation at the beginning
🌸The washrooms are nice and clean
🌸Must carry a cap for ur toddler if they agree to wear it
🌸Keep hydrating urself and kids during the tour.
And we left for mumbai early evening and got home just in time for our early dinner ! ❤️
P.S – Rango the Iguana is quite a chillar! Dont forget to wear him as a crown on ur head on ur way out 🤣😍💪😆
