She has a deep, digging curiosity toward her inner self. While on vacation, her mind wanders a little. “Over the years, I’ve filmed a few projects and it feels like I’ve experienced a lot through my characters, they’ve taught me a lot. My perceptions have widened and narrowed in phases.” I would think “apart from these characters, who are you?” It’s a great question, and every time I ask it, I gain a deeper and truer understanding of myself through the roles. #marieclairechina

“When I took on the role (of Xu Hongdou in Meet Yourself) I was full of energy. I didn’t have much fear and I didn’t worry about what to do if the role didn’t play out or wasn’t outstanding. A role that seems ordinary and lacking in splendor – if it can be molded and portrayed well by the actor’s heart and intention without distractions, that will make the role shine. Everyone is ordinary yet extraordinary and my hope is to unearth the extraordinary side from the ordinary.”
