Trying to get some dancing happening after “pack up” while shooting for @neermukile 🤣
We were all shattered… but once the work is done, there’s suddenly a spurt of energy! 💃🏻
First unsuccessful try was with @vivianambrose and then there were my lovely ladies @sruthisailesh and @makeupby_prarthana who were just as enthusiastic… ♥️
No – this is not Bharatanatyam.

MATSYA:
Her glance sets hearts beating. A flick of her hair moves continents and the cycle of time rests on her graceful shoulders. Her eyes find my uncertain form, and I shiver in anticipation.
When she walks, entire civilisations are created and as she rests they crumble into the sands of time.
“I am the blue of the ocean, the water in the ripples , the light in the sun… I am the sight in your eyes, the limbs in your movement and the thought in your thoughts …. I am above you ….., now below…. to the right…. left?…. do you see now? “
“When you begin to see, you will find your heart in the beating of all hearts…. Your soul, entangled in the pain of the earth; your joy rising, only to never fall…. “
“But, you must see….”

Some pictures from the Bellarine peninsula. We enjoyed lunch at the @jackrabbitvineyard and went to Bells beach afterward.
It’s been a very long time since I’ve had time off like this. You all might get some vacation spam 🤭. I’ll try to get some dancing into some posts…
I’m really enjoying the beauty of this region.

Last night in Chandigarh was magical in a way that I cannot explain. I have performed ISHWARA before several times, but some days everything comes together in a beautiful way.
It was as though all the artists were having an intimate spontaneous conversation … one that we can never repeat in exactness or even remember properly once it is done.
I’m very critical of my own shows…. I know when I could have done better. But last night was the best show of ISHWARA so far…. And I hope I’m able to have these beautiful conversations with my fellow artists more frequently…
@nandakumar_unnikrishnan @d.v.prasanna @shyam_rhythmgam @bamboo_melody_rakesh
I also have @somyarout2806 my coach to thank. For being there for me… I haven’t had a Bharatanatyam teacher for almost 18 years. And I really value my time with him. My body is my instrument – and without it’s versatility, I won’t be able to have any conversation on stage at all 😊
Photos are not from last night..they are photos of me dancing the first jathi of the same Varnam after the shoot for @neermukile was over… and @nithin_nandakumar captured it beautifully.

Everyone has been asking me for my skin routine… so here goes with a few things that I do. It’s not easy to travel so much, stay healthy and continue to perform and dance at optimal capacity. My focus is on this primarily… skin health is a side benefit. So here are a list of things that probably contribute to skin health in my case.
– I wash my face frequently. Clean properly before I sleep and maybe once or twice in the day because I end up sweating.
– I always hydrate. I use face cream. What’s worked for me so far… I’ve tried Lancôme, love their rose range, but also like L’Oréal, Chanel is great but too expensive, Estée Lauder has some great face creams. I’m sure there are other brands that I haven’t tried yet… but I like to keep it simple and just make sure I’m hydrated. Both in the day and before I sleep.
– I use virgin coconut oil to take make up off. It’s the best for me so far
– I exercise everyday. Run, dance, yoga, strength train
– I don’t drink too much water… this is odd. Because everyone says you needs lots of water for good skin. I just drink a lot when I feel like I need it. But I’m someone who can go most of the day with almost no water. Which is Wierd. 🙄
– I use my moms homemade ayurvedic scrub for my face and body a few times a week. It’s luxurious for me. Other days I use a simple face wash. I love the aveda face wash. But I also use the forest essentials and garnier, ponds etc – basic ones.
– I try to sleep as much as I can. If I have an early flight like today, I get to where I need to go and then sleep as much as I can. I carry an eye mask so that I can block sunlight. I definitely don’t get as much sleep as I should all the time but I’m trying to change that. Less sleep makes my skin feel sallow and tired.
– I eat healthy for the most part. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Raw veggies everyday – atleast one meal. I don’t eat food that’s too spicy or oily. Complex carbs, brown rice, grains are preferred. I never eat white rice. I eat happily now. This wasn’t always the case.
Lastly – this video – I had a good make up artist @makeupby_prarthana 😁
Hope this helps!

As we start afresh on Ugadi, our new year, it becomes important for each one of us to consider how we live with respect to the world around us. Indian culture has always revered nature and all creatures that inhabit this planet. One of the most beautiful stories is of Matsya. This tiny fish grew to reveal the truth of the universe to King Satyavrata when the world was going through a period of dissolution. Once we begin to see ourselves in everything around us, we begin to empathise with all life.
March 22nd is also celebrated as World water day. A day to pay our respects to this life force that we often take for granted.

The twelve apostles are a beautiful natural formation very close to Port Campbell, in Australia. The drive to get there from Melbourne, on the great ocean road is just stunning…
So much beauty in nature!
We took the helicopter to see the apostles as well as some other limestone formations – london bridge, another formation that looks like a cheese cake, also saw a little cove where penguins gather…
If you ever visit Australia, I’d put this on your list. If you can’t take the chopper, you can also walk on the boardwalk to the viewpoint…

Explored Melbourne yesterday… and packed a lot of activities into the long walks around the city…
– walked past the St Paul’s cathedral, and some other beautiful gothic inspired architectural buildings
– Walked past federation square. I thought it looked cool, but apparently a lot of people think the structure is very ugly. 😜 … it has a lot of art and activities
– Lots of streets with graffiti
– Saw the central train station. Flinders street station. Reminded me of the Victoria terminus in mumbai. Rumour is that the plans for these two train stations were exchanged during the British rule 🙄
– Ate the best waffle at this tiny joint on Degraves place!
– Walked along the Yara Yara river. (Means flowing flowing)
– Crossed many beautiful bridges across the river and tried the Melbourne shuffle again 🤣 . One of the bridges has details of all the immigrants…
– Had some bubble tea in Chinatown
– Walked past some beautiful museums
– And more streets with graffiti … saw one dedicated to AC/DC and other rock bands
– Went to a pub that had a secret closet like the chronicles of Narnia
– And found out that a bicycleon the wall is a symbol for a speakeasy (not so discreet 🙄)
So many restaurants… so much to see! Got in as much as we could.
