We filmed Showman these last two nights. My miraculous make-up artist, @claire.make.up was standing by, and in-between mixing my special secret ingredients (bull semen), she took this beautiful portrait of me on a camera monitor. Arranging for it to be used in my passport.
We had our 300th performance of Showman the other night. This big beautiful bastard has a few more weeks at the Apollo and then a final flourish at Norwich Theatre Royal at the end of March. Thank you to the nearly half a million people who’ll have seen it by then. It’s been a joyful ride. (Thanks @mj.holland_photography for the photography)
Went for a health check and only bloody bumped into Khadisha, @kaywhomes, our brilliant lady from The System. Now a multi-millionaire, she owns Ladbrokes, which is really exciting. Look at our coats.
Showman is all done. Last night was a very moving conclusion. Thank you again to the half a million people who came and were part of it. No finer place to finish than Norwich, and post-London it felt like a big party. Love to the @thebicycleshopnorwich, @arboretumnorwich, @jcpintonorwich , @brickpizza_norwich for the treats. Spent my birthday at my favourite hotel anywhere… the Pig at Bridge Place, Canterbury. This was our bathroom in the barn where we did ‘the cosies’. Thank you to Jamie and the whole team, everything is impossibly exquisite and effortless and no-one does it better 🐖 ❤️

Showman’s West End run is done. Off to Norwich next week to finish after 350 shows. Thank you to the fine, beautiful team at the Apollo Theatre, you gave us a gorgeous home.
