While the media circus focuses on the politics of hate and division today, it’s never been more important to organize from the bottom up. States like Alabama that were ground zero for the fight for civil rights are experiencing a massive roll back of freedoms led by the Republican Party. MLK was assassinated 55 years ago today. I’m here in Montgomery, Alabama remembering him at his church. It’s time to practice what we preach and stand up against the oppression being forced on communities across our country.
The courage my wife has shown throughout this trial has been nothing short of inspiring and remarkable to watch. Despite the incredible trauma she has faced, she shows up everyday for our family, for the people of California, and stands up for survivors. We must believe survivors — we must hold serial perpetrators accountable.
