So here I go…
Journaling our Singapore trip with some posts and reels about our experiences and learnings !
This was our 2nd International Trip with Mehr and both were in Corona times! And this trip was a game changer for Karan,Mehr and Me at so many levels.
Singapore Trip With A Toddler !
Some learnings –
➡️ Tickets to Singapore aren’t as crazy as Flight tickets to london as of now.
➡️Singapore Visas take 5 working days.
➡️Only fully vaccinated adults can travel to Singapore.
➡️Toddlers and Adults both need an RTPCR test done max 48hrs prior to flying.
➡️You need to fill an online declaration form a day prior to ur travel
➡️Reach the airport lil before time so that d child absorbs and learns new things.Such as d entire process of checking in ur bags,Security checks,Trolleys etc etc there was so much to observe there.
If you are pressed against time and rush your toddler thru everything then the whole purpose of the travel experience gets lost somewhere.
We also kept sometime on hand for the lounge.
Wanted Mehr to enjoy the view and have some snacks at the lounge.
➡️ Keep all the documents properly pinned together per person in the following order-
-Passports & Tickets
-Visa
-Vaccination crrtificate & RTPCR
-Online declaration forms(To be filled a day prior)
➡️Keep some fav snacks handy to avoid unexpected meltdowns during security check and immigration.
➡️It can rain with thunders anytime in Singapore so must check the weather before planning.
➡️It is a tropical country so please expect it to be hot all year round but manageable.
➡️Babies born during corona times arnt Pram/Stroller friendly cos they barely have had any chances to roam around in a pram,
But a stroller is a must cos there is so much to see in Singapore.
Mehr thankfully observed her cousin sleeping in his stroller just a week before our trip and was fascinated by the idea and thus we kept playing this game in the house for a few days where in Mehr wud sit in the stroller and just keep roaming about in the house.
➡️U are allowed to take the stroller till the doorstep-of the aircraft.
And u receive it near the beginning of the aerobridge after u land.

Travelling with a toddler in a long-ish flight ! ✈️
Herez what All i did-
➡️I prepared a busy bag full of some new and some old activities.
➡️The evergreen Magnetic scribble board is a life saver.
➡️Got a new pop up book for the surprise element.
➡️Crayons,Stickers,Stamps and a drawing/colouring book are a must.
➡️We made Some pasta bracelets too.
➡️Her first official screen time happened on this flight!
➡️She got amused with the whole idea of using headphones.
However after 15 mins she didnt care much about what was going on on the screen.
➡️I made a small suitcase with extra set of clothes for both Mehr and myself.
➡️Her fav doll and fav blanket to give her company.
➡️The flight was fairly empty so she walked around and explored the entire aircraft.
➡️I made sure i gave her her fav snacks to munch on and sips of water while take off and landing to help ear pressure.
➡️Pre ordered a kids veg meal while booking our tickets.
➡️She feeds herself so it was fairly easy for me on flight.
➡️She got comfy with eating slightly spicy foods on this trip.
➡️Kept her well hydrated thru the flight.
➡️I showed her ‘Happy Feet’ as her 1st film also cos we were about to visit penguins in Singapore so that she cud relate to them better.
➡️She also interacted with a senior couple sitting behind us who were amazed at how much she talks!
➡️Lots of cuddles and Loving too !
➡️Little nap too
Over all both the journeys to and fro were as smooth as butter ❤️
P.S – Plz make sure all the vaccinations of your child are up to date.I got Mehr her Influenza shot a few days before travelling.

U Made Us Parents 7 years Ago !
Although we still have soooooo much to learn,
But what U have taught is that Parenthood is the most challenging yet rewarding thing on this planet!

POM POM SQUARED !
🌸Just made a square with a red tape on the floor.
🌸We revised that a Square has 4 equal sides.
🌸We jumped in and out of the square.
🌸We collected all the pompoms in the square with a dusting brush and then later with hands too.
And then Dadda saw us having so much fun and cudnt help joining us !
Cos being with her is sooooooo much fun !

Our fav baker was AWOL so we decided to decorate @iamnaughtypatel ‘s dinner bowl with his favourite biscuits!
The whole idea was to let both my kids know that they are and will always be special to eachother ❤️

It is in these small things in life ! Truely!
The love and respect we give to our belongings keeps us humble in the long run…
Motherhood for me is re learning so many things about life so that I can guide my daughter well!
It might be just an act of cleaning her shoes but it involves so many skills !
P.S – The day after cleaning her shoes,Mehr went to school and with pride and immense wholesomeness told her teachers that she cleaned her shoes herself !

We were just revising our fruits n veggies and one thing led to another and we landed up doing this pretend play activity!

A day at the Singapore Zoo !
➡️Book the tickets on the official Mandai Reserve website cos they give you a multi park deal and flexible dates too.
➡️Download the park map online before hand and prioritise the animals you wish to see before hand and focus only on those,
Because one gets very tired within the first 2-2.5hrs in the heat with a toddler anyways.
➡️They have designated tram stops.Make sure you use their tram service to avoid excessive walking.
➡️Just get off the stops closest to the animals you wish to see and walk only a lil distance instead.
➡️There is too much to see thus be prepared for a long and tiring day whole day
➡️Make sure the child is well fed and well rested
➡️Water and Fav Snacks shoud be handy all the time
➡️Napkins for yourself cos yes you will be sweating lots in the heat.
➡️Dont miss the amazing fresh coconut water at the eatery over there.
➡️The pram/stroller and sunblock lotion is a must.
➡️There is a small Aviary and Butterfly enclosure there which is quite fascinating for lil ones.
➡️I skipped the Dinosaur valley cos I wanted to focus on the real animals first and do this bit only of we had the energy later.
➡️Only do as much as you can enjoy with a toddler.
➡️There shudnt be a rush to FINISH THE ENTIRE PARK ONLY COS YOU HAVE BOUGHT THE TICKETS.
➡️If u wanna feed the rhinos u will have to book online before hand.
➡️Breakfast with the Orangutangs is shut due to the pandemic.
➡️The elephants reserve is under renovation thus they arnt available for viewing too.
P.S The souvenir shop at the exit is super awesome ! They have the cutest things ever!

Books have always been an integral part of our night time routine! 📚📖
Painting before going to bed is a new addition to the routine now ! 🎨🖌
P.S Mehr makes a choice and gets me the books she wants to read before sleeping every night !

A holiday with a toddler isn’t easy! 🤦🏼♀️🤷♀️
It is doubly tiring and exhausting!

For Mehr being one with Nature and exploring its beauty is through PAINTING…
She collects shells,stones,pebbles and leaves where ever she goes and comes back home to paint them… 😍
Just last night she said…
I want to start a small business like Addu Myra didi’s slime business!
I want to paint Stones and Leaves and sell them…
I asked her what will you do with the money you make… and she didnt hv an answer yet!
So I just made a casual suggestion,
I said , ‘ God has given us all that we need,So Lets use that money to help Animals and other kids who might need good food,clothes and toys!
She loved the idea!❤️
And now im toying with this idea cos my 3 yr old has put this Seed in my head and figuring out how to take this ahead…. 😀

Who doesnt love music!😍
I wish I knew how to play some instruments,I can just do riyaaz on my harmonium🤷♀️
And she has picked that up from me,
Look at those lil fingers running so gracefully on the harmonium !🌸
But Im hoping that Mehr picks up an instrument to two with passion at an early age.
Just casually letting her be around whatever we have at home!
